Phoenix Sun, Victoria's Son

This is a moment I've been hoping for for a long time and it just so happens that a private event in Phoenix Arizona is where the historic meeting took place.

For those not 100% familiar with every single piece of this guitar (I think there are still some of you out there, no?), part of the pick-guard assembly is made from a piece of wood taken from the Almonte Ontario homestead of James Naismith – the inventor of basketball.

The gentleman in the picture is none other than James Naismith Award winner (NBA AllStar and two time league MVP), Steve Nash. After Naismith himself, Nash is easily Canada's most famous basketball export, hailing from Victoria BC.

Steve doesn't actually play guitar (at least not very well). For proof, check out this tribute to a friend of his recorded a few years ago.
